Hello Darrrrmilk! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing! //shb (t | c | m) 22:22, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Is this a warning for doing unconstructive edit(s) or just a welcome note? Darrrrmilk (talk) 22:24, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also why aren't references allowed? Darrrrmilk (talk) 22:27, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
That was not a warning; it was a standard welcome for Wikipedians. As for references, though, please read Wikivoyage:External links and Wikivoyage: Welcome, Wikipedians. If you're not sure why ref tags aren't used and secondary sources aren't normally cited in the texts of articles on this site, ask us then, but the basic answer is that they are unusual in travel guides and this one decided not to use them as a matter of style.
Best,

Sorry if it came out as a warning, but yeah Ikan's mentioned it – but we don't typically use warning templates on this site (except for touts) if it helps. :) //shb (t | c | m) 23:10, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also, I have to ask: what's the point of repeatedly reverting the bot on the graffiti wall? //shb (t | c | m) 04:15, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Explanation of some deletions

[edit]

Sorry about deleting some of your first edits. Have a look at Wikivoyage:Links to Wikipedia when you have a chance. Also, we don't include templated listings in region articles, with relatively rare exceptions that don't include cities that have their own articles, and we don't use touty-sounding section headers like "Best places" - read Wikivoyage:Don't tout for that. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:54, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Then why is there one in Walt Disney World? Darrrrmilk (talk) 03:59, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
One what? Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:54, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
So can I use template listing for city articles? Darrrrmilk (talk) 15:48, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
