Vank Voyage Tips and guide

Vank or Vangli is in Azerbaijan. It is home to Gandzasar Monastery.

	Note: With the return of Vank to Azerbaijani control after a military offensive in 2023, a lot of information about the town within the article became outdated. Travel to Karabakh is very restricted and is only possible with an invitation by the state for an official tour.

Vank is a small town that is easy to walk around. To get to nearby areas, such as Gandzasar Monastery, the best method is to call a cab.

• Van Gogh Restaurant at Hotel Eclectica is an option for dinner. It has a very large menu, however only a very small number of items are actually available.

• Hotel Eclectic. A hotel built by a Russian-based Armenian businessman, who was born in Vank, in the shape of the Titanic. Contrary to past reports, Hotel Eclectica offers both Wi-Fi and alcohol, although the Wi-Fi is often broken. There is a swimming pool at one of the hotel "decks". Nice rooms from 8,000 dram. 15,000 dram for a room with a king-sized bed and a twin bed.. (updated Sep 2019)

There is a taxi driver who waits outside Hotel Eclectica offering rides to nearby sites. Do not enter his taxi, as he charges double the local rate for rides, and demands a ridiculous amount of money (250,000 dram) for a return trip (Apr 2019).

Marshrutki for Stepanakert leave near the town center twice a day at 07:00 and 15:00 (Apr 2019).
