Reversion

[edit]

Hi, Doostdar. Please have a look at this revision edit summary. I don't know Farsi specifically, but my experience is that languages with Arabic scripts usually don't vary their spellings. For example, I only remember seeing the name Muhammad spelled one way in Arabic, although there are numerous spellings in Roman lettering. But perhaps I misunderstood what you meant to say.

All the best,

@Ikan Kekek: Hi, place names in Afghanistan are not constant. Some cities have changed their names from Pashtu into Persian and vice versa. The letter Q is sometimes pronounced K by English settlers in Afghanistan and as a result the Persian name for that place will change. I think spelling variations in places' names are to some extent complicated and can not be explained in Wikivoyage. --Doostdar (talk) 06:50, 26 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
So the Persian names sometimes change from using qaf to kaf? Interesting. Yeah, perhaps not worth going into in English-language Wikivoyage, but still interesting. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:05, 26 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Good topic

[edit]

Thanks for starting the Sex segregation‎‎ topic, which can be very useful to travelers.

All the best,

Thanks for reading my article. --Doostdar (talk) 11:40, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I have to demur. :-) First, it's not your article, and second, I'm doing more than reading. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:33, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Don't troll

[edit]

This was trolling. I of course sympathize with you and hope you stay safe, but a travel guide is no place to edit an article to read "Country X is going to be destroyed." Try X (former Twitter). Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:55, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Temporary account IP viewer

[edit]

Hello, Doostdar.

A recent change now means that all IP addresses are no longer visible to most ordinary users. However, as per WMF policy, any user who has made at least 300 edits with an account older than 6 months may request the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) permission to view IP addresses of all temporary accounts for up to 90 days. You are receiving this mass message because your account is autopatrolled, or has patroller and/or template editor permissions, and have over 300 edits, and thus are likely eligible to request this permission.

Guidelines surrounding the use of the tool can be found at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer; if granted, you must also accept the WMF policy in your preferences.

TAIV permissions can be requested at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer/Requests, or on any admin's talk page.
