Avoid copying promotional content and including default address info

[edit]

Please read Wikivoyage:Don't tout, Wikivoyage:Copyleft and Wikivoyage:Listings#Template parameters, concentrating on "address". Also, look at these edits and edit summary. After you've read all of that, please ask any questions you have by typing below. Thanks.

Best,

Thank you for your reminder. I have read the relevant guidelines and will revise the listing to follow Wikivoyage standards. Chensiwen (talk) 16:46, 12 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Very good, thanks. I'll look at your revisions later. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:56, 12 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Have you reviewed Wikivoyage:Don't tout? Here are some questionable things you put in the "content" tabs of hotel listings in the Pujiang article:
"close to the county bus station, suitable for travelers arriving by long-distance coach"
"A practical choice for short stays and early departures."
"Its location near government offices makes it convenient for business travelers and short-term stays."
If you have already read the don't tout page, read it again and see if you think all of these passages are OK and none are location touting or some other kind of touting. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:52, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi,Thank you very much for pointing this out and for your careful review.
I understand the concerns regarding location touting and value judgments in the hotel descriptions. I have now revised the relevant listings to remove all recommendation-style language, target-audience suggestions, and subjective evaluations, keeping only neutral, factual information in line with Wikivoyage't tout.
If there are still any sections that need further adjustment, I would be very grateful if you could point them out.
Thanks again for your guidance. Chensiwen (talk) 08:29, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I'd like to point out that "largely patronized by businessmen" is different from "convenient for businessmen." The first describes the clients; the second promotes to them. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:38, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
However, I see you're still talking about the attractions in the "surrounding area" in hotel listings. Please answer my question: Have you read the Wikivoyage:Don't tout page? I don't see any evidence that you have. Please stop trying to guess at the guidelines without reading them. If you have read them, read them again, more carefully, and ask questions if you're not sure you've understood particular points on that page. If you don't, I'm going to start deleting listings. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:43, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your message. I have read the “Don't tout ” guidance and revised the article again accordingly. I’ve removed promotional wording and adjusted the nearby listings based on my understanding.
Could you please take a look and let me know if my edits now match the guideline? Chensiwen (talk) 13:27, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well, these edits are better, but I still don't think "located near the county bus station" is within site guidelines, because "near" is an imprecise distance. If it's right across the street or down the block from the station, that should be noted. Otherwise, we should let the points on the map speak for themselves. Thanks. Section headings

[edit]

Wikivoyage:Section headers says to capitalize the first word in the heading, and any proper names. Everything else should be lower case. For example, "Coffee and casual drinks". not "Coffee & Casual Drinks". And we do not using boldfacing in section headings. Please make these changes to Guangyuan. Thank you. Ground Zero (talk) 19:29, 4 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your reminder and clear explanation of the heading style. I have followed your instructions and revised all the relevant headings in the Guangyuan article accordingly Chensiwen (talk) 01:38, 5 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Format of times

[edit]

As your assignment page says: "In South Korea and China articles, we always use the 24-hour clock (09:00-18:00), not the 12-hour clock (9AM-5PM)." Please make these changes. Thank you. Ground Zero (talk) 12:45, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your reminder. I have already made the changes and updated all time formats to the 24-hour clock as requested (e.g., 09:00–18:00).Please let me know if there is anything else that needs adjustment. Chensiwen (talk) 13:24, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
