- 1 Chengalpattu — Kolavai Lake hosts migratory birds such as the whiskered tern, Indian spot-billed ducks, moorhens, coots, and small waders

- 3 Covelong and Muttukadu — two coastal towns south of Chennai

- 5 Kanchipuram — temple, one of the seven holy cities in the country. Renowned for Kanchipuram silk sarees
- 6 Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram) — UNESCO Heritage Site. Ancient temples and carves, outstanding examples of Dravidian art and architecture
- 7 Pulicat (Pazhaverkadu) — former Dutch colony. Colonial legacy. Lagoon and mangroves
