Formatting and language conventions
For articles about Nepal, please use the 24-hour clock to show times, e.g. 09:00-12:00 and 18:00-00:00. Please show prices in this format: Rs100 and not ₹100, or NPR100. Please use British spelling (colour, travelled, centre, realise, analogue, programme, defence). Phone numbers should be formatted as +977-X-XXXXXXX. |

Dead Visa Link
[edit]The visa link (https://online.nepalimmigration.gov.np/tourist-visa%5Bdead+link%5D) in the "Get In" section is dead. It literally has the words "dead link" in the URL. Anyone got an updated link? Mitchp10 (talk) 03:47, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
FYI: How a Travel YouTuber Captured Nepal’s Revolution for the World

Additionally, for those who don't know: Wired have published a lot of great reportage lately. While they are primarily technology-focused, they interpret that broadly. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 22:57, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
Movement of the warning box to the stay safe section
[edit]It’s been a couple of months since Nepal’s infamous “dubbed Gen-Z revolution happened.” I suggest that we should move the warning box to the stay safe section as the immediate risk has now mostly passed. I’m waiting on guidance from you guys on whether this is necessary or not? Globetrotter30 (talk) 21:40, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

New regional breakup
[edit]The current breakup of five regions was first proposed in 2010, around 16 years ago. Now, it seems like some regions are underpopulated (Middle Hills), while others being overpopulated enough to be divided into subregions (Himalayas (Nepal)). So, I propose to divide Nepal into eight seven bottom-level regions.
- Kathmandu Valley — Kathmandu and suburbs
Central Nepal — the region surrounding Kathmandu- Annapurna — the western tourist circuit
- Khumbu — the eastern tourist circuit with Mount Everest
- Eastern Tarai — the eastern foothills
- Western Tarai — the western foothills
- Eastern Nepal — the less-explored eastern hills
- Western Nepal — the less-explored western hills
The proposed breakup deals with three things:
- Geographic breakup (highland vs lowland)
- Popular tourist regions (Kathmandu, Annapurna, Khumbu)
- Off-the-beaten-path areas (large parts of Nepal)

- I'd support the changes you propose. They make more sense culturally and are more traveller-friendly. SingyeDzong (talk) 11:18, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- Update — I have merged Central Nepal into Eastern Nepal, as there would be too few listings in Eastern Nepal compared to Central Nepal. Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs) 04:52, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
Time notation
[edit]While the articles use the 24-hour format, as far as I know, the 12-hour format is far more common in Nepal, similar to India and Pakistan, and 24-hour is used mainly in aviation. Yes, I have never been to Nepal, but I'm aware that Nepali, like other South Asian languages, expresses the time in 12-hour format. Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs) 04:36, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
