Or Lake Ossa?
[edit]A web search on "lake sanaga" found the following in w:Lake Ossa:
"Lake Ossa is a lake that lies west of Edéa in the Littoral Province of Cameroon. Lake Ossa, together with the smaller lakes Mevia to the northeast and Mwembe to the southwest, form the Lake Ossa complex. The lake complex covers an area of 39.27 km2, and is Cameroon's largest natural lake.[...]Lake Ossa is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) wide at its widest point. The lakes are in the lower basin of the Sanaga River, and are linked to the river by a narrow channel 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) in length."
I question whether this lake would pass the Wikivoyage:What is an article test, but maybe the Lake Ossa Faunal Reserve, briefly mentioned in the Wikipedia article, could, if enough could be said specifically about it. If not, "the largest town is Beach, southeast of the lake," but it's a red link in Wikipedia, so I doubt it could support its own article on Wikivoyage. What should we do with this stub? - I think this article is about w:Lake Tissongo per its lede. It seems remote and obscure, and with so little information available online I'd support outright deletion. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 11:35, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- I checked fr.wikipedia, and it was no more informative. So yes, let's delete. If someone wants to create a reasonable listing in the article for whatever the nearest town with an article is, they can go ahead. Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:05, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- I've made the nomination at Wikivoyage:Votes for deletion. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 20:56, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- It's within a national park, so I was thinking that the nearest destination is the park, rather than a town. However, Google Maps says the reserve is permanently closed.
- It's ~90 minutes from the lake to Edéa (redlink) by car, and 2.5 hours from the lake to Douala. We don't have many options in Category:Coastal Cameroon so there might not be a good redirect choice. WhatamIdoing (talk) 21:06, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
