Salleri is the district headquarters of Solu Khumbu.

Get in

Fly in from Kathmandu-Phaplu (35 minutes). Then walk downhill for 20 minutes to Salleri from Phaplu airstrip.

3 hrs walk North of Salleri lies the Monastery Of Chewong Gompa.

2.5hrs south down hill lies the Precious Salleri Chalsa Electric Hydropower Power house.

2 days walk to the North from Salleri comes the beautiful Dudh Kunda ("Milky Lake") just below the gorgeous Mt. Numbur & Mt.Karyalung.

1.5days walk west lies Pike Hill (4056m). One can witness a wonderful view of the Himalayas from Kanchanjunga in the east to Dhaulagiri in the west along with lovely sunrise and sunset.

3hrs walk up the hill from Phaplu to Ratnange hill a place one can witness the majestic Himalayas along with Everest.

One can buy many locally made handicrafts at the local market. Clothes made from wild Stinging nettle (Allo product), Nepali paper note books, carpet made from wool of mountain sheep (Raadi), other woollen Tibetan style carpets too.

There are numerous hotels and lodges for accommodation and meals.

Local Rakchi, local beer (Chhang), Tongba. Other foreign brands are also available.
