The most convenient way. Cars can also be rented directly at Ljubljana Airport.

Direct buses run from Ljubljana to Murska Sobota, taking approximately 2.5 hours. International routes, which include Flixbus or Nomago Intercity, often stop in Maribor, which has regular connections to Prekmurje.

Trains are available from Ljubljana to Murska Sobota, these rides typically take 3–4 hours and often require a change which is usually in Maribor.

Maribor Airport (MBX) is the closest airport and is about 45 minutes away by road.

Graz Airport (GRZ) is a convenient international airport that is just 1 hour away.

Vienna (VIE) or Ljubljana (LJU) Airports are typically 2-2.5 hours away by car and is further than the others.

Getting around in Prekmurje is best done by renting a car at Ljubljana Airport or in cities like Maribor. THis is highly recommended for visiting top sites like Goričko Landscape Park, Lake Bukovnica, and Terme 3000 spas efficiently.

This is a more reliable and budget friendly way to move through Prekmurje to go to major towns like Murska Sobota to the rest of Slovenia.

Trains are also available to Murska Sobata but are considered slower than buses.

Due to the region's flat, scenic landscape it is an ideal place for cyclists.

Taxis and private transfers are available to shorter distant regions.

Prekmurje is a scenic, tranquil region in northeastern Slovenia known for its rolling Goričko hills, the tranquil Mura River, and unique geothermal features.

• The Island of Love in Ižakovci is on the Mura River, this spot features a traditional floating water mill, a small boat ferry, and beautiful earthbound nature.
• Goričko Nature Park is a protected landscape in the northern part of Prekmurje, it features a hilly terrain, traditional orchard meadows, and diverse wildlife. This makes it a great place to hike and bike ride.
• Bukovniško Lake is a lake in Slovenia located near Dobrovnik. This lake is surrounded by lush and forest as well as being known for its reputed energy points and a peaceful walking path.
