(Northern) Mansi (ма̄ньси / ма̄ньщи) is a Uralic language, spoken in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra of Russia. Its closest relative is Hungarian.
Most people of Mansi descent are bilingual Russian-Mansi speakers, so these phrases aren't essential when traveling, but if you want to connect to the culture and people there, you might want to keep these simple greetings and phrases around.
The phrases marked with (n) are a new addition to the language, phrases like these were and are not common between native speakers, but knowing them couldn't hurt.
Pronunciation guide
[edit]Mansi uses the Cyrillic alphabet with few changes.
