Hosur (Tamil: ஒசூர் Ocūr, Kannada: ಹೊಸೂರು Hosūru) is an industrial town in Northern Tamil Nadu, on the bank of the River Ponnaiyar. It is considered the manufacturing twin of Bangalore (Bengaluru) due to its presence of major manufacturing industries, compared to Bangalore's presence of major IT industries.

[edit]- 1 Chandra Choodeswarar Temple (சந்திர சூடேசுவரர் கோயில் Cantira Cūṭecuvarar Kōyil). An ancient Shiva temple. The exact history of the temple is unknown. This is the only temple in Northern Tamil Nadu that uses a golden chariot for temple functions.
