Canaries is in Saint Lucia. It has a population of 2,200 (2022) and is south of Castries and on the Saint Lucian coast. It is 16 km².

[edit]Canaries was founded by the French in the 18th century. Its governing body is the Canaries Village Council and it is named after Kannawi, the Creole word for cooking pots.

[edit]You can get a Saint Lucian SIM card for 15 EC$ from Digicel in their stores or from resellers. Flow hands out SIM cards for free, but be prepared to buy a plan on the spot. 4G is the best data available in Saint Lucia.
Wi-Fi is average in Canaries, and is commonly available in major areas, but do not count on Wi-Fi being available in small areas and small restaurants.

Deadly wildlife, including snakes and bugs, have caused deaths on the island, and you should keep on high alert. Take bug spray and anti-venom if necessary.
Common foods in Saint Lucia can contain allergens, including eggs and nuts. Allergy information isn't as good in Saint Lucia as most countries, so be careful about what you eat. You also shouldn't go into the foragery at night.
